Thermal protectors and thermal switches for tubular motors
TM1 thermal protector, TP1 thermal switch, T11thermal protection switch, TM1 temperature switch, TP1 Thermal Cut-out, T11 temperature controller, TP1 thermostat

The motor Thermal Protectors and Thermal Switches TP1, TM1, T11 are featured by small size, light weight, large capacity, fast temperature sensing speed, snap action, safe and reliable, long service life, little wireless interference, sensitive to temperature and current, etc. They are actually a kind of double pole single throw switch. The normal trip off temperature ranges from 60 to 160°C. Both Normally Closed and Normally Open types are available.

Descriptions

1. The thermal motor protector (thermal switch) TM1 is an electro-mechanical safety device, which provides complete protection to your electrical equipments against overheating and overloading and mechanical malfunctions. The contacts close again automatically, as the device cools down.
2. Thanks to their miniature size and high compressive strength, it specially can be used for direct mounting on winding of motors and transformers.

Each and every trip off temperature of TP1/TM1/T11 series thermal switch is individually temperature calibrated and checked to guarantee the snap action. Imported key components, advanced manufacturing technology, rigid temperature calibration and strict quality control make the product performance reliable and stable.

Applications

They are widely used for overheat protection and temperature control of electrical heating appliances such as water dispenser, water heater, electric heating appliances, dish washer, drying machine, disinfection cabinet, microwave oven, electric coffee pot, electric caldron, refrigerator, air conditioner, laminator, car seat heater, and so on.
Motor for fan and air conditioner, motor of washer, motor of oil and smoke pumping, transformers, ballast of fluorescent light, electromagnetism and microwave stove, etc.

Certifications

All our products of TP1/TM1/T11 series are certified with UL, cUL, VDE, CB, CQC, and RoHS and REACH environmental protection decrees are strictly implemented. Larger and clear reports are available upon request when appropriate.
Please contact us to request for clear copies of the certificates and test reports of the certifications when necessary.

Working Principle

This thermostat will cut off the circuit automatically in case of overheat. TP1/TM1/T11 series Thermal Protectors also uses snap-action bimetal disc to make and break the circuit. This bimetal disc senses the heat from the equipment in which a TP1/TM1/T11 product is installed. When the temperature of the disc reaches a predetermined calibration point, the disc snaps open the contacts, thus breaking the current path. When the equipment returns to a normal operating range, the protector resets (closes circuit) automatically.

Differential of terms: thermal protector, thermal switch, thermal protection switch, temperature switch, Thermal Cut-out, temperature controller, thermostat
The terms thermal protector, thermal switch, temperature switch, temperature controller and thermostat all refer to a mechanical device that contains a bimetallic strip sensitive to temperature and is therefore used to trigger a snap action when the temperature rises to a preset point. The snap action can cut off or put through power supply to control the protected device.
Thermal protector is the most standard term. As in most cases a thermal protector is used to protect the motor of a machine, such as vacuum cleaner, power tools, mower, washing machine, compressor, the thermal protector is often referred to as a motor thermal protector or a thermal motor protector. As the thermal protector can make or break the circuit like a usual switch, it is also called a thermal switch or temperature switch. Since they are made with the key component, a bimetallic strip, they are also called bimetal Thermal Switches. A thermostat or temperature controller is used to control the temperature within a certain range. Unlike the motor thermal protector, the thermostat and temperature is often used in a heating device. Literally, thermal protection switches are the same  as thermal protectors or thermal switches.
TOPRO 17AM1 Motor Thermal Protectors are the same in quality and structure as 17AM thermal protectors made by Klixon, but much lower in price.
